Brian and I had the opportunity to play Tarzan and Jane for an afternoon. We packed a picnic, got a babysitter, and headed out to the Forest Adventure Park for a work “Friday Fun Day.” Basically, the Park is an obstacle course through the jungle. This obstacle course has several zip lines that whisk you over the tree tops to a landing. From there you cross bridges, climb rope ladders or peg ladders, scale big nets, or tetter across suspended log bridges or metal rings. Well, you get the picture. Pretty exhilarating. I think I read the average drop would be about 120 feet, so if you drop something (like yourself), it is gone, gone, gone!! The scariest part for me was the “Tarzan Swing”. You clip yourself onto this rope and as you “free fall” rapidly down, you are flung forward and you splat into this huge net. As you are splatting, you try to catch the net so you can pull yourself up and on to the next obstacle. The weather was perfect, the company was terrific, and the view was gorgeous as we zipped through the jungle with the East China Sea alongside us! What a day!
Here’s a couple videos for your viewing pleasure!
Sorry some of the quality isn’t that great, but we were just having too much fun to worry about that!
Not going to lie, this stunt took my breath away the first time I did it! The free fall at the beginning was a little freaky before the slack in the rope got tightened! I jumped too fast, and Bri wasn’t ready, so we didn’t get the beginning of the jump on camera.
