Mihana Carnival Park and Brian’s Birthday

We celebrated Daddy’s birthday by scoring BIG time and finding a trampoline at the Kadena BX.  They had previously sold out and it’s just a guess when they might get more.  We were sent over to Camp Foster to the PX because they had 2.  By the time we had a house and somewhere to put the tramp, they were all sold out also.  We decided to stop  at the Kaden BX one last time before heading out on a birthday adventure.  Sure enough, they had the perfect tramp for us!  Yay!  Feeling lucky, we headed  off to Mihana Carnival Park  which houses the famous ferris wheel in what is fondly referred to as American Village. We had noticed the ferris wheel several times as we drove around, and we were curious to see what it was all about!

We had been before and ate at a delicious resturant, bit wanted to return to take a ride in the ferris wheel.  It’s a long story, but it didn’t work out for us this time, so we explored the shops and headed home to put the tramp together. We will be back for sure.  The shops are right along the East China Sea, so I bet the view from the ferris wheel is AMAZING!

When we got home, because he begged that he wouldn’t get to play with his presents if we waited until Sunday to let him open them, we gave in.  They had just opened new apple stores at the BX and PX, and we got lucky when it first opened and were able to snag an iPad tax free!
Thanks Mom and Dad’s for the checks to put towards this!  He was a very giddy and happy boy as he opened this gift.  It’s been fun for everyone too!

Totally jealous of the tramp. I could think of a few times recently when I would have loved to send Jordan and Halle out to jump off some energy! 🙂

  • Looks like Bri had an awesome birthday! They IPad looks awesome! I love my I touch and Ryan has the I Phone, it’s just a matter of time before we grace our home with an IPad, I’m sure! Japan sounds and looks cool! The tramp looks fun too! Have a great day! Love you all! Jules

Fun pictures! Hard to tell who got the better present on your birthday Bri – you or Nat & the kids! Glad you had a Happy Birthday!!

We are glad we wished you Happy Birthday early. Getting in touch half way around the world doesn’t make it quite as easy as before! We are so happy you had a great idea for your birthday. The kids are too cute. The trampoline is a good investment for the kids and good time to relax for mom and dad!

We have actually seen that ferris wheel and park on one of JAG episodes! It does look awesome. We are still watching reruns. It helps us feel like we know what Bri does. At least it keeps me up on the legal lingo! We will be in Okinawa sometime. Make a list of your favorite places. It just looks beautiful!

It was a good thing that Brian couldn’t find the right iPad at the Best Buy in Destin, FL just before you were leaving to Japan, huh.

Hey, it’s totally off from this topic section, but are you thinking about having Kennedy enroll in a Japanese school? If Kennedy is interested in, it would be great! Max, my student went to Goza Seibo Gakuen, a Japanese Catholic school. Max and his family loved it. The teachers seemed so sweet and he had a great time learning and experiencing many good and fun things and activities unique to Americans. Max had a few American friends who went to the same pre-school and kindergarten, also. I don’t know any other schools there, but just hearing from Max, I know that he had a such good experience there.
