Having lived in Florida for a few years now, I’ve grown accustomed to scratching my head in wonder at how many stupid things happen here. I actually love living in Florida, but if you ever hear an outlandish story about criminal misconduct, look for a location and you’ll likely find Florida right in the mix of things 80% of the time.
For instance, I was just perusing the local newspaper to see if any airmen distinguished themselves over the weekend with a newsworthy story and found the following (non-military-related) headline:
“Man arrested after blowing nose on girlfriend.”
A 44-year-old man was charged with battery April 10 after his girlfriend told police he had sealed off one nostril and blown the contents of the other nostril all over her.
In most places this would be s defining moment in the relationship. Not in NW Florida though. Since this happened on April 10, undoubtedly the couple are back together planning for their future together. As one commenter, Wacky Bob, wrote, “Women’s shirt= Crestview Kleenex….”
Luckily we take our laws very seriously in this neck of the woods, and the offending gentleman will have his day in court next week.
