Faith to Walk on Water

You may be asking , “WHAT????” However, with this child ANYTHING goes.

Today we were swimming in the pool and Kennedy started telling me the whole story of Jesus walking on the water. After telling the story she says to me, “Mom, I wish I could walk on water.” This is how our conversation went:
I replied, “Yes, that would be very neat to have been Peter wouldn’t it?”
“Except for when he almost sinks! Mom, I think I have enough faith.”
“That’s great Kennedy. Sometimes we have tough situations we have to go through.”
“Yes, like Daddy being gone for a VERY long time.” She says this all so dramatically.
“Yes, sweetie. It’s tough, but we have to keep our faith and trust Heavenly Father will keep us all safe. Just like Jesus kept Peter safe when he started to sink.”

I was thinking to myself. Wow, this is a great teaching moment. Maybe she is learning something at Family Home Evening.

Then she busts out, “I think I will be Jesus for Halloween this year. Yes, Mom. I want to be Jesus!”

I am glad you found me!! What have you been doing the last four years??

By the way, I laughed hard at Kennedy’s story. It sounds like something that would go on at my house. My two oldest pretend they are Jesus.

Now that would be quite the costume!

On a side note, can I borrow your mad hair skills? Seriously. Kennedy always has perfect hair. My girls? Not so much.

It is always entertaining what comes out of that little one’s mouth!! It looks like her bangs are getting grown out for the dance recital. I think it makes her look older! :(The pink dress is adorable!! Janie and Jack?

What a silly girl! You get to work on that one Nat – that could be one interesting costume. And I’d say you better watch her (and Nathan too) more carefully in the pool now, cuz she might do a little walking on water experiment! 🙂

    What a sweet teaching moment!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for Halloween! Good luck with that one – ha ha!

She sure comes up with some interesting ideas! I must say that would be a very unique costume. What a silly little girl! She looks really cute in those pictures. I love her hair!

Maybe you should try having her be Mary hahaha. Well, you have to give her credit for picking good role models.

She is a cutie with that dress and her beautiful hair. She is definately a cutie. How is she doing without Daddy. We are praying for you.

She definitely keeps you on your toes! I’m curious to hear your conversations with Nathan as he gets older! 🙂

What a beautiful girl and what a creative mind. If I know Natalie, she could come up with the perfect costume if that is what she wanted. I like how she tells you what she is thinking. Some kids I look at and wonder what they think about the world they see!.
    Love you,

That’s quite the punchline. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kid dressed up as Jesus for Halloween. Could be very interesting at the Ward Halloween party…
