Boating on the Emerald Coast

We have been playing on the Gulf Coast. The Bishop and his wife took our family out boating. We had a great time. It is so gorgeous here. I just have to pinch myself over and over. The water is so pretty. It was such a fun day.

Brian just relaxing . Check out the blue water and the white sand. It is such a great contrast!

Kennedy loved the bumps and the breeze blowing through her hair. She was giggling and singing songs she made up.

I wasn’t up for skiing or tubing with the baby bump I am sporting, but I just love to boat and swim. I told you I was growing!

Believe it or not, (you won’t if you know our Kennedy too well) she actually took a little cat nap!

Brian hitting the water. As I was looking back at the pictures I took, his faces were hilarious is all of them. He looks a little terrified. He’s more of a boarder than a skier these days. He ate the water a few good times, but it made for a great show!

Kennedy and Daddy out tubing. She had fun until she got sick of the water splashing in her face! She buried herself in her Daddy’s chest eventually.

Playing some football and swimming at Crab Island. You don’t think it looks like much of an island huh!? Well, it used to be ’till a huricane shifted things around. As you cross the Destin bridge, you will see anywhere from 10 to 200 boats anchored in the bay. This is where the locals anchor to spend the day swimming, snorkeling, and playing football. Yes….football as well as frisbee and volleyball. You can spend the day on your boat soaking up the rays, or jump out and walk around Crab Island. Crab Island is anywhere from 10 to 3 feet deep depending on where you anchor. A restaurant/snack barge floats around selling you hamburgers and fast food. We also have our own “Ice Cream Guy” who delivers frozen treats by boat. Kids can jump on a huge water trampoline. It’s a great way to have fun and to cool off from the hot sun. We had a great time!
